Write for us
Western Home Journal welcomes pitches that help readers understand a distinct question about rooms, materials, objects, home care or domestic rhythms. We look for clear thinking, a useful point of view and advice that respects the variety of real homes.
What to pitch
Send a focused proposal about one subject, such as comparing room arrangements, explaining a material choice or exploring the changing role of a household object. Strong pitches say what the reader will understand or be able to decide after reading, and why the subject deserves its own piece.
What makes a good contribution
We value precise language, a clear structure and claims that can be supported. Keep recommendations within safe, ordinary household decisions; do not pitch hazardous repairs, specialist work or instructions that depend on local rules. Disclose relevant commercial interests, and do not submit work that relies on invented experience or unsupported claims.
How to send an idea
Use the Contact page to share a short pitch, a proposed angle and a little about your relevant experience. A proposal is not a commission, and we may ask questions or suggest a narrower focus before considering a piece.
